For MIUI 6 to MIUI 10

Step 1. Open Settings > About phone, find the MIUI version option and tap it continuously for 7 times.

Step 2. Go back to Settings, select Additional settings > enable Developer options > scroll down, enable USB debugging and Install via USB options.

For MIUI 5 and earlier

Step 1. Open Settings > About phone, find your build number/MIUI version and tap it continuously for 7 times.

Step 2. Then go back to Settings > turn on Developer options > scroll down down to enable USB debugging and Install via USB options.

Way 1: Connect your device to the computer using the original USB cable. A notification will appear on the screen and you can see USB computer connection options. Choose MTP or PTP from the list.

Way 2: Open Settings > Storage. Touch the Action Overflow icon and choose USB Computer Connection, then choose either MTP or PTP.
